Off-Site Backup
Since the web-server is remote from your business premises this automatically provides off-site backup for your design data. If some problem arises with your local computer systems then you are safe in the knowledge that any files on the server will not be affected.

Intra-Company Design Communications
You can use the system for transferring designs between computer users within your company. Simply allocate an area of the webserver as a common data area and allow your users to save file to and open files from the server. Using the Internet this can be extended to include users within your company anywhere in the world. Send and receive design data instantly across the world.

Design Communications to Suppliers
If your production facilities are at a different geographical location to your production facilities then you can send design data from design office to production office. This can take the form of full ScotWeave designs or can be restricted to production information (e.g. loomcards) or even to jacquard loom disk files (using this system you can send, for example, a Bonas EP file to a remote weaver in an instant).

Design Communications to Clients
ScotCom can also be used to create a constantly updated sales portfolio of current designs for your sales staff on the move. At a client's premises, your sales staff could log on to ScotCom and preview the latest design collections instantly. With a ScotWeave design system on laptop, a "travelling designer" could make instant changes to a design and send these back to the factory for approval and weaving in real-time.
